Thursday, the dance you shouldn't miss is Kecak & Fire Dance of Desa Adat Sambahan at Ubud, Bali.
It's held of Pura Batu Karu Temple, north of Puri Saren Agung. A characteristic of this dancing group is size of a scale. Sambahan Villagers more than 100 people join to this dance as a dancer. As for this dance, a chorus of men is only music.So you can enjoy a powerful chorus shaking the ground there is much number of dancers. The men who only wearing futa play a role as orchestra and stage direction. A choir of a hundred men or more sitting in concentric circles, swaying, standing up, lying prone as the story develops.
Story is a fragment from the Ramayana, the ancient India epic of the love story. The story is that Prince Rama rescues his beautiful wife Sita with his brother Laksmana and the monkey warrior Hanoman from the demon king. It is the highlight that beautiful dancers playing a princess Rama and a prince Sita, but the gamelan chorus of fantastic men’s voice in darkness will give you the stronger impression than the story.

Kecak & fire Dance
Kecak is a special dance that's accompanied by human music voice. In this dance, the story develops through a choir of more than one hundred men sitting down on circle and start as their voice “kecak-kecak.” While performing sing, sway, stand, and lying prone, they take part in the orchestra. They perform the part of Ramayana story based on the elements of Sanghyang Trance Dance.

Being held on Thursday every week is Kecak Dance. Kecak derived from Sanghyang of the ceremony dance (early public entertainments that had become prototypes of this Kecak). The drama performed by the Raja Peni troupe is drawn from the first part of story in the Indian “Mahabarata” epic. The story begins with the six Sisian dancers performance. Kurowa brothers, who are the antagonists in the Mahabarata, have petitioned the goddess Durga to destroy Indra Prasta where the kingdom of the five heroic Pandawa brothers. The story is that Durga sends her servants to the kingdom to fulfill the Kurowa's request.
